Questions people ask
What do I need to send?
Mostly your bank feed, plus invoices and receipts for anything the bank does not show. Exactly what is needed is confirmed when the scope is agreed.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
Monthly bookkeeping starts from £120 a month for a sole trader and from £180 a month for a limited company. “From” prices apply to straightforward records with low transaction volumes, and your exact fee is agreed before work begins.
My records are behind. Can you help?
Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping brings neglected or missing records up to date. The fee depends on how far behind the records are, so it is agreed once their state is clear.
I already have an accountant. Do I need a bookkeeper?
Many clients have both. The accountant prepares the year-end accounts and tax returns; the bookkeeper keeps the records in order all year, so the accountant receives clean figures.
Is the tax return included?
No. Self Assessment tax returns are not part of the service. Your year-end figures are prepared ready for the return, which you or your accountant submit.
Which accounting software do you use?
Artix Bookkeeping works with cloud accounting software, including QuickBooks Online and Xero. If you already use something else, send a message to check whether it is a good fit.
Can I move from my current software or bookkeeper?
Yes. Software set-up and data migration is a one-off service, from £200.
Who do you work with?
Sole traders, landlords, partnerships and limited companies, anywhere in the UK.
How quickly will I get a reply?
Usually within 2 working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00. Messages sent outside these hours are answered the next working day.
Will my fee change?
Fees are reviewed once a year. If anything changes, you will be told in writing with at least one month’s notice.
